COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Police say a man broke into the home of a 71-year-old Colorado Springs woman, knocked a gun out of her hand and sexually assaulted her.

The woman told police she was watching television Thursday night when she saw someone looking through her window. She got her handgun and was standing in a hall when a man burst through the door and knocked her gun from her hand.

She says the man then threw her to the floor and assaulted her.

Police say the intruder took the woman’s wallet, which contained about $100, and a comforter from her sofa, explaining he was homeless.

No arrests have been made.
