Boulder's 'Flatiron Freddy' Disagrees With 'Punxsutawney Phil'
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Boulder's rodent meteorologist "Flatiron Freddy" disagrees with Punxsutawney Phil.
Freddy popped out of a Chautauqua Park tree stump Saturday morning. He says winter will stick around for another six weeks.
Freddy is a stuffed yellow-bellied marmot. He was killed by a car several years ago.
Chautauqua rangers say Freddy's predictions have been correct 80 percent of the time.
Legend has it if the furry rodent sees his shadow on Feb. 2, winter will last six more weeks. But if he doesn't, spring will come early.
Keep in mind that Phil's predictions don't always come true.
