COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado Springs police have arrested a man after a car thief got stuck in a field, failed to hijack a car and was sent away when he tried to rob a bank.
Police identified the suspect as Ivan Stamps. Investigators are still trying to determine what charges to file.
Problems began Wednesday when a trooper made a traffic stop. The suspect drove the stolen vehicle into a field, where it became disabled.
Police say the man tried to hijack a vehicle at a convenience store, but the driver backed up and drove away.
He found another victim and stole a vehicle, but when he tried to rob a bank, he was sent packing.
The suspect was later arrested after ramming two patrol cars, causing minor injuries.
