AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Some people celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day a day early in Aurora.
Dr. Derek Barber King is a nephew of Dr. King and spoke to a group on Sunday.
“On April 4, 1968, a shot was fired. The echo went around the world,” Barber King told the group.
He said Dr. King’s message lives on even though he’s been gone for decades.
Barber King travels around the world spreading the message of non-violence and compassion.
