HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) – Highlands Ranch police located a missing special needs teen Monday evening.

Police said on Sunday at about 12:30 p.m. deputies responded to the 9800 block of Spring Hill Lane on a report of an endangered 16-year-old runaway.

According to police, Ethan Ryder left his residence in an unknown direction. He didn’t take a jacket or cellphone with him. He may have Asperger’s and be bipolar.

Ryder was found and taken to an area hospital and was said to being doing well.

“It has been reported that Ethan likes to walk in the green belt areas around the Highlands Ranch subdivision,” police said in a statement.

Police said Ryder also went missing on Friday but was later found and returned to his family.
