COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4) – There was another welcome sight in Colorado as snow has been falling in the high country.

Skiers wasted no time hitting the slopes at Copper Mountain on Sunday. Eight inches of snow have fallen at Copper in the last 48 hours.

“It’s great, it’s snowing today, so we’re happy to see that,” a skier said. “We’re here for a few days and we’re ready to get more snow tomorrow. It’s not icy at all, smooth runs, and it’s perfect.”

“This is an awesome day here. There is a lot of fresh powder, the snow is still coming down, not many people,” another skier said.

Copper could see up to another foot of snow in the week ahead.
