AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A woman who helped kill a couple two years ago has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for her role in the crimes.
The Aurora Sentinel reports that 22-year-old Janelle Kimberly Harris resisted a plea agreement and went to trial for helping Terrence McNeal kill an ex-girlfriend. McNeal believed the ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Durst, would testify against him in an upcoming burglary case.
Harris, McNeal and another person then went to Durst’s apartment and killed her boyfriend, Terrence Scott George.
Prosecutors considered seeking the death penalty against McNeal, but announced last fall that they would not. He was convicted of murder last summer and is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
