Arrest Made In Connection With Missing Fort Morgan Teen Case

FORT MORGAN, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators have made an arrest in connection with the case of a missing Fort Morgan teen, but the disappearance of the girl remains unsolved.

Kayla Chadwick was last seen walking with her boyfriend in late March. CBS4 Investigator Rick Sallinger has confirmed her former boyfriend Ivan Torralba has been indicted by a grand jury and is under arrest.

Chadwick's disappearance had been secretly under investigation by the grand jury. Torralba is charged with destroying evidence, attempting to influence a public servant, and four counts of perjury.

There has not been one confirmed sighting of Chadwick since she disappeared.

Neighbors in the mobile home park where Chadwick lived weren't aware of the arrest.

"I would say it's probably good so they can find out where she's at so the family has closure on what went on," neighbor Tim Pacheco said.

When Chadwick was last seen she had a verbal and physical fight with Torralba.

"I knew that something was wrong. I wasn't sure if he was lying or what," neighbor Larry Elliott said.

"If she's alive, please, please find her," neighbor Debra Elliott said.

Torralba has prior arrests for drugs and weapons. He's being held on a $250,000 bond.
