DENVER (CBS4)- Starting at 7 p.m. Friday and continuing until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, the ramp from eastbound U.S. 36 to U.S. 287/Wadsworth Parkway will be closed for paving operations.
Traffic traveling eastbound on U.S. 36 will be detoured to Church Ranch Blvd.
In addition to the weekend closure, there will be several single lane closures on eastbound and westbound U.S. 36 on Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night for temporary paving, median removal and striping operations.
One lane will remain open for all through traffic.
Single land closures will also take place on northbound and southbound Lowell Blvd. at U.S. 36 Nov. 19 through Nov. 21 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for bridge and wall construction.
One lane will remain open for all through traffic during scheduled lane closures. Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists through the work zone.
The ramp closures and additional work are part of a 10-mile widening and reconstruction project on U.S. 36 between Federal Blvd. and 88th Street.
The project adds one High Occupancy Vehicle/tolled Express Lane in each direction, replaces five bridges and adds Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), all in which will provide additional transportation options for commuters.
