DENVER (CBS4)- A man awakened from his sleep early Wednesday morning thought the sound of glass breaking mean burglars but it was a house fire.
Firefighters rushed to the home turned into apartments at about 2 a.m. Wednesday at 24th and Stout in Denver.
Seven people and a dog were inside and all escaped inside.
“We just went to sleep after hearing the president talk, locked up and I saw flames on the deck,” said resident Robert Rowland. “I tried to grab a fire extinguisher and put out as much as I can. It was too much. I grabbed everybody I could and got out of there.
Fire investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started. Three condos were heavily damaged.
