LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Lakewood are investigating an explosion in a family’s front yard.

The explosion happened Sunday afternoon on West 18th Drive in Lakewood. Ater the explosion neighbors called police.

Police and hazmat crews found two one-liter size bottles in front of the home. They say the bottles were lined with an acid type residue.

The family was evacuated but let back in their home shortly after. Nobody was hurt.

Police say it’s a strong possibility the explosion was nothing but a practical joke.
