Free Child Safety Program

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Parents can learn the basics and get the tools recommended by the FBI and the Department of Justice at the Lifeprint Next Generation Child Safety Event.

The event is Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pro Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram at 1800 W. 104th Ave. in Thornton.

Parents can receive a Biometric palm print, fingerprints, digital photograph and child safety journal all free of charge.

There is no data basing at the event. All materials are put on a child safety CD and given to parents to keep. That is the only record available.

Palm prints are increasingly becoming useful in crime scene investigations. The FBI says more than 40 percent of prints left at a scene are palm prints.
