AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Aurora police are investigating after a man was found dead near a light rail station Tuesday night.

Frank Fania with Aurora police said officers were called the Regional Transportation District Nine Mile Light Rail Station located at 3181 South Parker Road around 10:30 p.m. When officers arrived they found a man dead near a parking structure.

The cause of the man’s death was not apparent and an autopsy was scheduled for some time on Wednesday.

“The RTD Nine Mile Light Rail Station is a major hub for people using the RTD light rail and bus services. It also has a large parking structure for passengers to park as well as numerous cars coming into the area to drop off and pick-up passengers,” Fania said in a statement. “Because of this heavy car and foot traffic, even late at night, police are asking for anyone who might have seen something related to this incident to please call.”
