AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A new bridge across Yale Avenue at Interstate 225 will open on Friday, two months ahead of schedule.
The bridge had to be rebuilt to make room for the expansion of light rail and widening I-225 in the area.
The bridge was scheduled to be closed for six months but the work was completed eight weeks early.
The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday.
RTD said they have been working with CDOT on this project, combining lane expansion with light rail extension, much like they did with the I-25 T-REX project just a few years ago.
