Silent Movies Anything But Quiet

DENVER (CBS4)- The silent movies were never really silent. The films always had a musical accompaniment to enhance the mood onscreen.

The first Academy Award winner for Best Picture, "Wings," was a silent film. So were many others that are remembered as the greatest films of a generation.

CBS4 Greg Moody is a big fan of silent movies. He previews the Denver Silent Film Festival that opens on Friday. Watch his entire report below.

The Denver Silent Film Festival begins Friday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. with a gala VIP reception at the Seawell Ballroom in the DCPA.
