Tracy Porter Is Familiar With Matt Ryan And The Falcons

DENVER (CBS4) - When cornerback Tracy Porter signed with the Denver Broncos he knew he was going to be tested every game with opposing teams looking to avoid throwing Champ Bailey's way, but against the Pittsburgh Steelers he was up for the challenge.

"I just had to play with confidence like I've been playing my previous four years," Porter said. "I think I did a pretty good job. But that's just week one, we have a long season ahead of us."

Porter intercepted Ben Roethlisberger and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown to put the game away. This week the Broncos take on Matt Ryan and the Falcons in Atlanta, a team Porter is familiar with.

"I played these guys during my four years in New Orleans, so I have a pretty good feel of the quarterback and the receivers and what they like to do," Porter said.

It's great to win at home, but winning on the road separates the good teams from the elite teams.

"That's the biggest thing. You always want to take care of home … but those championship teams, those teams that go deep in the playoffs win on the road," he said.

The Broncos take on the Falcons Monday night. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.
