United Airlines Computer Problems Affecting Airports, Website

DENVER (CBS4) - Passengers on United Airlines are facing long lines at some airports across the country after a computer problem affected the airline's ticketing system and its website.

United's website was down as of 4 p.m., and displaying only the message:

"We are experiencing technical difficulties. This will temporarily affect our ability to serve you online."

United is based in Chicago and one of the airports with long lines was O'Hare International Airport. A spokesman for DIA told CBS4 it didn't appear that lines at United counters were longer than normal.

Chicago Aviation Department spokeswoman Karen Pride said the airline was having a problem with its ticketing system, creating long lines for United customers.

Further details about the problem were not immediately available.
