DENVER (CBS4) – A man who pleaded guilty to robbery and other crimes that led to an officer-involved shooting last fall has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Justin Martinez, 21, pleaded guilty earlier to aggravated robbery.
Lynn Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney’s Office said on Oct 18, 2011, Martinez participated in a robbery at a store in the 1400 block of Krameria Street.
“Martinez ran from the scene and was arrested by Denver police officers about a block away,” Kimbrough said in a statement. “A second armed suspect in the robbery was shot by officers and died later at the hospital.”
