DENVER (CBS4) – It was great weather and a great turnout for Tour de Cure on Saturday as hundreds of riders took part in the ride.
The Tour de Cure raises money for the American Diabetes Association. It’s an important cause that hits home for a lot of people.
There are 21 million people across the U.S. with diabetes and 270,000 of them are in Colorado.
Riders say this year’s event was inspiring to see so many people with diabetes out on the course.
“It’s fantastic. Especially today I participated with the Red Riders, which everybody who had diabetes got to wear a special jersey,” diabetic rider Jeff King said. “A lot of support out there; yelling and screaming for the Red Riders.”
CBS4′s Dave Aguilera was the emcee of the event.
