3 Arrested, Child In Protective Custody, In Adams County Meth Lab Bust

DENVER (CBS4) - A 2-year-old is in protective custody and three people are under arrest after a meth lab bust in Adams County.

Members of the North Metro Drug Task Force went to a house on 84th near Huron Street Thursday afternoon after getting a tip about a meth lab.

They say they found enough equipment and chemicals to indicate the lab had been in operation for at least 10 months. Police also found weapons inside the house.

Agents told CBS4 they are seeing an increase in meth activity in the Denver metro area and that it's something everyone winds up paying for.

"These are so dangerous, such a hazard," North Metro Drug Task Force Commander Jerry Peters said.
"Our understanding is that the suspects in this case had several people out running around gathering ephedrine and pseudoephedrine to make this meth.

Federal money that used to cover funding for meth home cleanups is no longer available.
