AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police are investigating a shooting that sent two people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened a little after 4 p.m. on East Colfax Avenue near Kingston Street. Two men were transported to the hospital and are expected to recover.

Police are looking for a vehicle that the suspect or suspects may have left in.

Police said multiple shots were fired during the drive-by shooting. Officers said when they arrived the found the two men who had been shot. One man was shot in the leg but was able to run away from the shooters. He ran into an auto body shop and was able to escape more gunfire.

The second man was sitting on the sidewalk when he was shot several times. Police said he was conscious and talking to them.

"I heard five gunshots, so I came up this street, did a u-turn, (saw) the guy lying on the floor," a witness said. "Another guy had on white shirt with blue jeans, limping away. He got shot in the leg. The other guy lying on the floor was very conscious, so I think he's going to be okay."

Police believe the suspects and victims knew each other and are confident they know who the suspects are.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police.
