Heavy Rain Damages Southern Colorado Bridge
WETMORE, Colo. (AP) — A portion of a state highway in southern Colorado is closed after heavy rain damaged a bridge near Wetmore.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said the bridge sunk about five feet below the surface of Colorado Highway 67 following heavy rain Tuesday night. Crews were at the bridge Wednesday to figure out how to fix it.
The highway is closed to through traffic between Florence and Wetmore.
The bridge is made of wood and was built in 1952.
