Shooting Leads To Chase And Fatal Crash

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A shooting Saturday night in Aurora resulted in a pursuit and fatal car crash.

Police said around 10:58 p.m. officers received a call of a shooting in the 1100 block of North Clinton Street. When officers arrived they saw a red car leaving and they tried to pull it over.

"The car failed to stop and led them on a pursuit," Officer Frank Fania said in a statement. "The pursuit ended at East 13th Avenue and Pontiac Street in Denver when the red suspect car collided with another car attempting to cross East 13th Avenue."

Witness said the car was traveling about 80 miles per hour.

Two men were taken to the hospital and are currently in custody. A third man fled on foot and was arrested nearby a short time later.

"The female driver and lone occupant of the other car was rushed to a Denver hospital where she later died from her injuries," Fania said.
