DENVER (CBS4)- A man who had been arrested in connection with the serious injury of his infant daughter has been charged with more severe counts after the baby died.
Marquis Garrison has been charged with first degree murder and two counts of child abuse resulting in death.
Garrison, 30, had been previously charged with serious bodily injury. That charge has been dismissed.
The new charges allege that on June 25, Garrison grew frustrated with the fussing and crying of his 2-month-old daughter and shook her and threw her on the ground, causing serious injuries that resulted in her death.
Garrison remains in custody at the Denver Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on July 17 to be formally advised of the charges.
