Man Formally Charged With Alleged Attempted Murder Of His Neighbor

DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused of attempted murder after a fight with his neighbor has been formally charged by the Denver district attorney.

Albert Gonzales, 57, is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree and assault in the first degree.

"The charges allege Gonzales stabbed the 56-year-old victim several times with a folding knife after a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation," Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office said in a statement.

The incident happened in the 2400 block of West 32nd Avenue.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Gonzales' bond has been set at $50,000. His next scheduled court appearance is on Friday.
