DENVER (CBS4) – A man has been formally charged in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found in a Denver alley on June 16.
Jamie Valdiviezo-Perea, 39, is charged with first-degree murder and two counts of menacing.
Police said in the early morning hours Valdiviezo-Perea was allegedly involved in a confrontation with the victim, Juan Hernandez-Soto, 27, and shot and killed him in an apartment on South Quivas Street.
“The charges further allege that Valdiviezo-Perea menaced two other people as he wrapped the victim’s body in a blanket and removed it from the apartment,” Lynne Kimbrough with the district attorney’s office said in a statement.
Valdiviezo-Perea’s next scheduled court appearance is on Wednesday to be formally advised of the charges.
