Wildfire Changes Final Leg Of Ride The Rockies

ESTES PARK, Colo. (AP) — The route of the Ride the Rockies Bicycle Tour is being changed a bit because of the High Park fire.

Riders will still ride from Estes Park to the Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins on Friday — the tour's final leg — but will travel farther east to avoid the burn area. Some of the roads on the original route are closed because of the fire.

Air quality could pose a problem so tour director Chandler Smith says cyclists will also have the option of taking a shuttle to the finish line instead.

Smoke from the fire has been settling over different areas of Colorado and Wyoming this week, depending on winds.
