Jury Convicts Wrong-Way Driver In Fatal I-25 Crash
DENVER (AP) - A woman accused of causing a fatal crash while driving the wrong way on Interstate 25 last year has been convicted of vehicular homicide.
Jurors also convicted Victoria Barry on Monday of driving under the influence and one count of third-degree assault. She was acquitted of a second count of third-degree assault.
Prosecutors say Barry was drunk when she drove south in the northbound lanes of I-25 the night of May 14, 2011. She crashed into a car driven by 31-year-old Lilly Duncan of Colorado Springs. Duncan was killed. Prosecutors say Barry also crashed into a second car, injuring another person.
Barry faces up to 12 years in prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled for Aug. 2.
