AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A car crashed through the front of a restaurant on Sunday evening in Aurora and injured 10 people.

The crash happened at 2284 South Chambers Road at a Mexican restaurant called Tacos & Salsas.

Several of the people who were hurt were dining at the time.

Eight of the people who were hurt had to go to the hospital and they reportedly had non-life threatening injuries.

Aurora police officials described the cause of the accident in the following way: “Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Honda pushed the gas pedal, instead of the brake, causing the car to crash into the building.”

Police said the driver could face charges and that the drugs and alcohol might have been a factor.
