Touching Ceremony Held At Fort Logan National Cemetery

DENVER - Across the country people remembered the military members who've sacrificed for the nation and those who attended the Memorial Day ceremony at Fort Logan National Cemetery said it was touching.

It was a beautiful day for the ceremony that was attended by people from all over Colorado representing all branches of the military.

For some it's an annual tradition to attend the ceremony at Fort Logan National Cemetery for Memorial Day. Others were newcomers because their sons or daughters recently joined the military. But for everyone there was a prayer for the soldiers' safety.

"All mighty God, Father of us all, in the midst of those here assembled, we see your hand of mercy in the depth of our sorrow for our departed brothers and sisters."

One element of the ceremony that was particularly touching was when they announced each group of veterans from every era. Each was invited to stand up and everyone was given a round of applause.
