Grocery Bags Could Start Costing Shoppers In Boulder
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Boulder city leaders will decide on Tuesday whether to charge for plastic or paper bags. It's part of a proposal to cut down on trash that fits into Boulder's zero waste master plan.
The city had considered other measures some said were too extreme, like an outright ban on disposable grocery bags. Supporters say it's a good way to get people to use re-usable bags.
Critics say grocery stores will be the scapegoat if they have to charge for bags because people will be upset at the additional cost.
