Thousands Gather For 4/20 Rally In Downtown Denver
DENVER (CBS4)- Thousands of people gathered in Civic Center Park on Friday afternoon for the annual 4/20 rally.
Copter4 flew over the crowds in downtown Denver. The gathering was complete with a concert planned for Friday evening and several vendors with their booths set up in the park.
April 20 is a day where pot smokers try to persuade lawmakers to legalize marijuana.
Every year thousands of people attend the rallies in Denver and on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder. This year the university tried to discourage the gathering by making Norlin Quad off limits.
The rallies center around the arrival of 4:20 p.m. At that point in the day everyone in the crowd, for the most part, begins smoking pot.
