Crews Search Landfill For Body Of Missing Infant
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)– Investigators continued searching a landfill in Aurora for the remains of an infant that was reported missing last month.
Sharrieckia Page is accused of killing her 7-month-old son, Torrey Brown. She has been charged with child abuse resulting in death even though the baby’s body has not been recovered.
Copter4 flew over as FBI and police detectives searched for the baby’s remains at the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site.
At the time of the initial disappearance investigation that began March 29, police said they believed the child was no longer alive but would not reveal why. Detectives said the child died at the hands of his mother.
At the Pinecrest Apartment complex where Page was living in Commerce City with her two other children, officers taped off dumpsters with crime scene tape while they searched the area. Officers also carried away a bassinet and other items from inside her apartment.
Investigators said they received information that Page had been seen near one of the dumpsters. If Torrey’s body was placed there, it may have gone into a garbage truck and emptied into the landfill.
More details about the investigation have not been released because the case has been sealed.
