Man Found Guilty Of Cold Case Sexual Assault In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused in connection with the sexual assault of a young woman has been found guilty.
Lynn Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney's Office said Connie Liphford, 27, was convicted of sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact
"In February, 2008, Liphford offered a ride to the victim, a 26-year-old woman, but instead of taking her home drove to an isolated area where he sexually assaulted her," Kimbrough said in a statement. "She was later released in the area where she lived and she was able to walk home."
DNA evidence collected at the time of the assault later identified Liphford as a suspect.
Liphford will be sentenced on July 26.
A co-defendant in the case, Domonique Huntington, 25, is scheduled to appear in courtroom May 4.
