6 Colorado Cities, Counties Seek Tourism Support
DENVER (AP) — The public will get its chance to weigh in on a plan by six Colorado cities and counties to get more state funding to boost tourism.
The Colorado Economic Development Commission is meeting Tuesday and will decide by May 18 which one or two projects will receive rebates on the state taxes generated by their projects.
Aurora wants money for a hotel complex, Douglas County wants a sports complex and Estes Park wants a recreation park. Glendale is seeking a riverfront complex, Montrose County wants money to create jobs and Pueblo wants more money for a river walk.
The projects cannot exceed a combined $50 million a year.
