White Powder Prompts Hazmat Sitation at FCI Englewood

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A white powdery substance found in a mail room at Federal Correctional Institution Englewood prompted a hazmat situation.

The powder was found in an envelope addressed to an inmate Monday morning. The mail room was promptly contained. The West Metro Fire Protection Hazmat team was notified.

Local and federal law enforcement authorities have been notified.

The institution was secured and there was no threat.
