Fire Forces Conifer High School Closure

CONIFER, Colo. (CBS4)- Conifer High School will be closed on Tuesday, April 3 for students because of the situation caused by the Lower North Fork Fire.

Conifer High School staff members are asked to report to the school at 10 a.m. Tuesday. All other Jeffco schools will re-open after spring break on Tuesday as scheduled.

The school district has also created an alternative transportation plan for mountain area students. From Tuesday, April 3 through Friday, April 6, mountain area students who cannot get to their regular bus stops can go to any other Jeffco bus stop and board the bus. The district will see that these students reach their regular school. Buses will run as close to a normal schedule as possible. Bus stops can be found online at jeffcopublicschools.org.

The district is deploying extra buses in the mountains and will check bus stops after regular routes are completed to ensure no students are left behind. Anyone needing information can call the West Transportation Terminal at 303-982-5215.
