DENVER (CBS4) – A man was killed after being shot on East Colfax Avenue early Sunday morning.

Sonny Jackson with Denver police said around 2:57 a.m. officers responded to a call on shots being fired in the area of East Colfax Avenue and Peal Street.

“When officers arrived on scene they found one male victim who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds,” Jackson said in a statement. “He was pronounce dead at the scene.”

Jackson said investigators are still sorting out the facts of the shooting.

The victim’s identity has not been released and police haven’t released any information on a suspect.
