DENVER (AP) – A Colorado man accused of defrauding a government program for ailing nuclear weapons workers has been sentenced to four years in federal prison, followed by three years on supervised release.

A federal judge on Friday also ordered Anthony Paul Breaux of Palisade to pay more than $3.5 million in restitution to victims. He pleaded guilty last year to health care fraud and money laundering.

Prosecutors alleged his business, Honor-Bound Healthcare Providers, double-billed or falsely billed government programs for care provided to patients in Arizona, Colorado and Oregon.

They say he also paid $13 an hour to family members already caring for patients at home, while billing the government at a much higher nurses’ rate of $90 to $100 per hour for that care.
