Immigrant From Highlands Ranch Accused Of Human Trafficking

DENVER (CBS4) - A federal indictment says an immigrant from Nigeria ran a human trafficking ring out of a home in Highlands Ranch.

Prosecutors are asking for an emergency motion to keep the suspect behind bars.

Investigators say Kizzy Kalu ran a bogus college called Adam University.

The charges say he would sign up Filipino nurses as teachers but instead put them in jobs in nursing homes.

"Some of the nurses came and told us they weren't getting all their money from Kizzy," said Jay Moscowitz, the president of the nursing home. "The employee and started asking questions."

Kalu is also accused of threatening to withdraw the nurses' visas if they didn't do what he was told.
