Last Of Group Of Men Sentenced For Burning Teenager

DENVER (CBS4) - A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for his role in the brutal assault and burning of a teenager.

Lynn Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney's Office said Erick Perez, 21, pleaded guilty earlier to second-degree assault and unlawful sexual contact.

"On Feb. 14, 2011, Erick Perez and a group of other young people participated in varying degrees in an assault on a 14-year-old boy that resulted in burns that reached the level of serious bodily injury," Kimbrough said in a statement.

Five others have already been sentenced for the crime. They include Cody Cummings, 20, sentenced to 5 years in prison; Damian Sibayan, 19, sentenced to 7 years in prison; David Ingram, 20, sentenced to 5 years in prison; Michael Bellefeuille, 22, sentenced to 2 years of probation; and Robert Freeman, 20, sentenced to 2 years of probation.
