2nd Woman Charged In Death Of 4-Year-Old Boy
BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) -- Prosecutors have charged a second woman with child abuse after a 4-year-old Commerce City boy died of blunt force injuries to the head and neck.
The Adams County District Attorney's Office said Saturday that 48-year-old Lana Roberts has been charged with child abuse resulting in death after Gabriel Andres Trujillo died at a hospital Feb. 17.
Gabriel's grandmother, 60-year-old Doris Becky Trujillo, has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death. State records show she had been caring for the boy and also had custody of his sisters, ages 10 and 13.
The DA's office says Roberts, who turned herself in Friday, lived in the home with the family. No other details have been released, and documents in the case have been sealed by a court order.
