DENVER (CBS4) – Charity calendars featuring Colorado firefighters will return next year, but this time under a new nonprofit organization.
The company behind the charity will release more information on Friday.
The news follows an investigation into the woman who used to put out the popular calendars to benefit The Children’s Hospital burn unit. CBS4 investigators learned Kirsten Hamling had been keeping some of the money for herself and using it for personal expenses and costly vacations.
Hamling’s group was called Fired Up for Kids.
The state attorney general’s office filed a lawsuit against Hamling. They’ve ordered her to give up all rights to the charity so a new organization could take over.
