Cheesman Reservoir Project Taking Longer Than Planned
DECKERS, Colo. (CBS4) - People will have to wait a little longer to enjoy the area around Cheesman Reservoir.
Denver Water says it'll be July before the recreation area will open. It had hoped to finish work on a major upgrade of the dam by the spring, but part of the job is turning out to be tougher than first planned.
It's the first major upgrade to Cheesman Reservoir since it was built more than 100 years ago.
The cost of the project is about $12 million.
