THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- An escaped prisoner is back in jail after an attempted kidnapping.
Police in Thornton said a tip led them to Daniel Krajnik. Investigators said he tried to kidnap a woman Jan. 3 in a Walmart parking lot at 9901 N. Grant St.
The victim told police that she noticed a man, believed to be Krajnik, 29, following her in the store. When she tried to get into her vehicle, Krajnik grabbed her by the arm, showed her a handgun and told her to get into the vehicle.
The woman yelled for help and was able to get some people in the parking lot to help. The man was able to get away.
Krajnik was an escapee from the Colorado Department of Corrections at the time of the Walmart incident.
Krajnik voluntarily turned himself in to police on Jan. 4 He remains in the Denver County Jail on escape charges. Krajnik also faces attempted first degree kidnapping and felony menacing charges in Thornton for the Walmart incident.
