GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado State Patrol says a semi jacknifed on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon and that 40 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the road from a punctured fuel tank.
No injuries were reported. The crash occurred at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday.
The spilled diesel was contained by portable barriers until a State Patrol hazardous materials team arrived.
The patrol says the driver lost control in ice and snow. The driver was identified as 58-year-old Janet Walker-Cochran of Denver.
The State Patrol says eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed for several hours. They reopened after the investigation but closed again Sunday afternoon because of other crashes.
