Mother Of 2 Shot & Killed In McDonald's Parking Lot

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4)- A mother of two was shot and killed in a McDonald's parking lot on Tuesday. Her ex-husband was found dead from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

The woman was shot at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday while her children were only a few feet away inside the fast food restaurant located at Main Street and Parker Road.

Police said her ex-husband, Mark Royer, shot and killed her in the parking lot.

Royer is a former employee of the University of Colorado Denver. He is listed as the President of Renewed Hope Ministries in Parker, but neighbors told CBS4 the organization dissolved some time ago.

Royer's ex-wife had a restraining order against him.

Police have not released the victim's name but records show Royer was divorced from Donna Royer last year.

Police later found Royer dead in his truck from what appears to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
