Small Plane Crashes In Colorado En Route To Aspen
TELLURIDE, Colo. (AP) - A Federal Aviation Administration official says a small plane has crashed near Telluride.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says the Socata TB-21 aircraft was flying from Durango to Aspen when it crashed Saturday in an area north of Silverton. Montrose police who joined in a multi-agency search after an alert was issued found debris from the crash shortly before 3 p.m.
Gregor did not have details on the number of people who might have been on board.
A dispatcher with the San Juan County sheriff's office says deputies were out in the field and not immediately available.
