DENVER (CBS4) – A Stapleton school locked down for most of the day Monday after a gunman barricaded himself inside a nearby home.
The lockdown happened at Westerly Creek Elementary School. The gunman was at a home on Xanthia Street.
Students stayed inside the building but were all moved to the side not facing the home. The gunman was arrested and taken away in an ambulance Monday afternoon. It appeared he may have hurt himself.
School was dismissed at the regular time and after-school activities took place as normal.
