DENVER (CBS4) – It may be ancient in its conception, but working with bronze gives a satisfaction to artists right to this very day.
Denver-based artist Yoshitomo Saito is known for his incredibly detailed naturalistic work in bronze. It’s a metal that works perfectly into his philosophy of reusing and recycling.
Depending on what is added, how it is worked and the level of polishing, bronze can be many different colors. Saito works to make it as natural looking as possible.
Saito showed CBS4 Critic at Large Greg Moody how hot things can get in his studio.
Saito will do a pouring session that is open to the public at 6 p.m. on Saturday in Denver. It will be held at Ironton Studios at 3636 Chestnut Place in the River North Arts District.
“Wander around while you’re there,” Moody said. “It’s a fascinating place with a lot of great artists at work.”
